Inspired by Alicia Silverstone's "The Kind Diet" and Michael Pollan's "In Defense of Food," we want to experience the vegan lifestyle to improve our health, boycott animal suffering, and reduce our carbon footprint.

Sugar-free sweetness

It's been a week without sugar. I am happy! Sometimes I think about caving and buying some Purely Decadent ice cream, but I know that I've gone a week sans processed sugar and don't want to break my streak.  Let's see how long I can keep it up!  oh, I know how long - Day 61 - when I eat my 4 Girl Scout cookies that are hiding in the freezer.
Day 36 Food Journal:
-Kashi cereal with flax, banana, almond milk
-chips with guacamole and salsa
-carrots, popcorn, red wine, asian pear

  1. Day 61 made me laugh! Way to go on the sans sugar front!!! Are you eating enough calories?

  2. Your meals so so small!!! Do you feel full all the time?

P.S. -- it was good seeing you today!!! and thank you so much for coming out to brunch, eventhough it must have been hard for you to eat there!...and you looked amazing and most importantly happy, so the new eating style must be doing something right :-)

  3. Thanks Katherine! It was great seeing you too! Way to go on trying to be vegan! Remember you can try any time, and don't be too hard on yourself.

I eat plenty of food and rarely feel hungry. Since I know it's good, healthy food, I take the liberty to eat pretty generous portions - especially of veggies.
